The Chatham man who stabbed his brother in the neck with a kitchen knife on Christmas Day has plead guilty to a lesser charge. Michael Wass will serve 6-months behind bars for aggravated assault -- the original charge was attempted murder. Employees at Mahle in Tilbury have ratified the remaining two years on their contract. However, the company is still set to layoff a portion of its 300-employees in the next couple of weeks. Workers at Mahle in Tilbury still don't know how many jobs will be lost -- after ratifying concessions to their contract. Workers recently voted to re-open the deal to try to save as many jobs as possible. 75-percent of union employees voted in favour of the compromise put foreward by the company. The re-worked deal does promise the plant will stay open until at least the summer of 2010... Click here for full story | |
