The warm weather is encouraging maple trees to wake up, and that means syrup production is underway. Rondeau Bay-area farmer Don Giffen says it doesn't take long for people to start looking for the first crop of the year. Giffen says production seems to be starting about the same time right across the province. | |

Two local girls volleyball teams are in the OFSAA quarter-finals. After winning this morning and ending up in a 3-way tie for first, a tie-breaker left McGregor in 2nd place at the 'AA' tournament in Perth. While CKSS finished 1st in their pool at the 'AAA' tournament in Stratford. Both teams play in the win-or-go-home games at 12:30 this afternoon. | |

Careless driving charges have been laid following a single-vehicle accident east of Tilbury. Authorities say the driver lost control on Gleeson Line yesterday morning. The 20-year old woman suffered minor injuries when the air bags deployed. | |
