Radio Broadcast Engineer

Terms of Employment: Full time with on-call responsibilities.
Salary: To be negotiated.
Location: Essex County with travel to Chatham, Leamington, Windsor, Sarnia & Wingham.
Skill Requirements:
Education: Post secondary education in Broadcasting, Electrical, Electronics,
                   AM/FM transmitters and Computers.
Experience: Minimum two years in related field.
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Position Details:  Provide assessment, maintenance, repair, vacation relief and on call support for our radio station properties throughout Ontario. While your main duties will be at sites within Essex, and Kent counties, you will be asked to gain knowledge and understanding of our Sarnia and Wingham properties. You will be required to provide support and cover for the engineer(s) within all branches due to vacations, extended illness, and/or major projects.  At the branch level you will report to the General Manager and be required to work closely with other members of the engineering and IT team.  Due to the expectation of a heavy travel schedule, a vehicle will be provided with associated expenses paid by Blackburn Radio Inc for travel from site to site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that station(s) operate within our license and safely expedite all duties and responsibilities.
• Be available “On Call” for emergencies after regular working hours. 
• When ever possible, regular work will be scheduled during normal work hours.  Under special circumstances some scheduled work will need to be performed after hours and on weekends.
• Take direction from the General Manager and/or Director of Engineering and complete assigned tasks independently.
• Co-operate with all Blackburn Radio staff, and contractors hired by Blackburn Radio in carrying out your duties.
• Operate and maintain all technical equipment is in good working condition by following preventative routine maintenance schedules and assist in developing maintenance schedules.
• Report any observation that would increase safety or efficiency as related to your duties and responsibilities.
• Keep all equipment and work areas clean.
• Present a diary of your work and a log of all equipment repairs to the General Manager and or Director of Engineering as requested.
• Upon approval, order supplies and material and keep a stock of the same for quick repair and maintenance.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets as requested.
