The warm weather is encouraging maple trees to wake up, and that means syrup production is underway. Rondeau Bay-area farmer Don Giffen says it doesn't take long for people to start looking for the first crop of the year. Giffen says production seems to be starting about the same time right across the province. He says usually, the sap flows first in the Southwest.
