➢ KELLY PRESTON died yesterday after a two-year battle with breast cancer. She was 57. This one comes as a huge shock, because she kept her diagnosis and treatment private.
In an Instagram post, JOHN TRAVOLTA said, quote, “Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while.”
Kelly is survived by John, their 20-year-old daughter Ella, and their 9-year-old son Benjamin. Their oldest child, a son named Jett, died in 2009, at the age of 16.
Her movies included “Twins”, “Jerry Maguire”, “For Love of the Game”, and “The Cat in the Hat”. Her last film was 2018’s “Gotti”, where she and John played mobster John Gotti and his wife Victoria.
➢ J.M. Smucker Company is recalling one lot of Natural Balance canned cat food due to potentially deadly health concerns.
The company said it received reports of pets having “adverse reactions” to 5.5 oz. cans of Natural Balance Ultra Premium Chicken & Liver Paté Formula.
They were able to release information about the stock, which was sold online and in pet specialty retailers throughout the United States and Canada. The 5.5 oz can is said to feature a Best If Used By Date of 08 04 2021

➢ You might be surprised how often your virtual assistant THINKS you’re asking it a question. Because a new study in Germany found a ton of words that can accidentally trigger Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant.
Researchers set devices up next to TVs, and they found over 1,000 words and phrases that can trigger them.
They haven’t released the full list yet, but here are a few examples . . .
- Alexa can be triggered by the words “unacceptable” . . . “election” . . . and “a letter.”
- Google Home can be triggered by “Okay, cool” and “Okay, who’s reading.”
- Siri can be triggered by “a city” and “Hey, Jerry.”
➢ Baby Yoda has been so popular since “The Mandalorian” premiered in December. And soon, he’ll gazing back at you from a cereal box.
On May 4, aka Star Wars Day, General Mills revealed the impending arrival of Mandalorian-themed cereal. Flash-forward to July and the cereal is about to fly onto Sam’s Club shelves throughout the US.

This Flight Attendant Is Actually Funny
We’ve seen videos of flight attendants trying to be funny while doing the announcements. But this guy working a Southwest flight out of Minneapolis had some good stuff.
Like this: Quote, “For those of you traveling with children this morning . . . why?”
He says passengers with MORE than one child should select the one with best earning potential who can contribute toward their retirement . . . and put the oxygen mask on that one first.
He also tells “ladies” traveling with men to secure their own oxygen mask first, since they’re the adult in the relationship. The passengers appreciated the effort and gave him a round of applause when he finished.

Spirit Airlines did something pretty cool last week. And they couldn’t have done it if there weren’t empty planes sitting everywhere.
A four-year-old girl from Puerto Rico had a medical issue on a flight to Philadelphia, and it had to land in Turks and Caicos.
She’s okay. But her family didn’t have their passports, because they’re not required if you’re flying from Puerto Rico.
So Spirit got them food . . . clothes . . . a place to stay . . . and then flew in an empty plane just to get them home.

OHIO WOMAN FINDS 4-FOOT SNAKE ON SHELF IN LAUNDRY ROOM
This is scarier than the dirtiest clothing.
Authorities in Ohio say a team of wild animal specialists responded to a home in Flushing after a four-foot snake was spotted on a laundry room shelf.
The responding officer had to call in the Dangerous Wild Animal Response Team (DWART) to help extract the snake, which wouldn’t come out of its hiding spot willingly. The sheriff’s office says the snake was released into the wild a few miles from the woman’s home.
FLYING SNAKES
A snake on the ground is scary enough for some, so how about one launching itself through the air?
The paradise tree snake — does just that, propelling through the air from trees in South and Southeast Asia.
Experts say the snakes glide through the air. The researchers carried out indoor experiments with live snakes then the next stage for researchers is to observe snakes jumping from trees — or gliding – outdoors.

SPORTS NEWS
The Washington Redskins will announce today (July 13th) that they are changing their name, according to media reports last night. However, Sports Business Daily, which first reported the news yesterday, said the new name won’t be announced today because trademark issues are still pending.
Meanwhile, ESPN reported that MLB’s Atlanta Braves said in an email to season-ticket holders yesterday that they won’t be changing their name, but are considering whether to continue with the tomahawk chop rally motion that fans do in the stands.
Major League Soccer postponed a match Sunday (July 12th) between D.C. United and Toronto FC just minutes before it was scheduled to begin, after testing Saturday showed a positive test for one player and an inconclusive result for another. Retesting will be done and the match will be rescheduled at a later date. The “MLS is Back” tournament begin in Orlando last Wednesday, and already two teams, FC Dallas and Nashville SC, have pulled out because of numerous positive tests.
Darius Rucker and His Wife Are “Consciously Uncoupling”
DARIUS RUCKER and his wife Beth are splitting up after almost 20 years of marriage . . . and they’re doing it Hollywood style. Sadly. In their announcement on Saturday they used the phrase, “consciously uncouple.”
Here’s the statement: “Beth and I would like to share that after much reflection we have made the decision to consciously uncouple. We remain close friends and parenting partners and continue to be each other’s biggest cheerleaders.”
They were married back in 2000. They have two kids together . . . a 19-year-old daughter named Daniella, and a 15-year-son named Jack. Darius has a 25-year-old daughter, Carolyn, from a previous relationship.

CHARLIE DANIELS MEMORIAL
Vince Gill was at the Charlie Daniels’ Memorial Service on Friday . . . and he shared a great story from a long time ago when he was in a band called Pure Prairie League. They were opening for Charlie, but their bass player got arrested so Charlie encouraged Vince to do the show solo. It was his first time doing it, and it gave him the confidence he needed.
